Portable Safety Disconnect
Safely Disconnect a 200 Amp CLAMP JAW - BYPASS socket while UNDER LOAD The expanding family of Marwell Portable Safety Disconnects (PSD) has some new members. The newest models are the very compact 501-1, 501-3, & 502-3. A compact 100 amp breaker makes it possible to safely disconnect a 200 amp clamp jaw bypass socket without opening the main breaker.
Sequence of operation
- Close bypass and remove meter (handle up to bypass).
- Turn Marwell PSD breaker “ON”.
- Insert PSD into companion extension adapter - Marwell UL Listed .
- Install PSD & adapter combo into socket (handle down to clamp).
- Turn Marwell PSD breaker “OFF”, safely breaking load.
- Remove PSD, leaving adapter in place.
- Cover and seal.
Optionally, The meter may be “booted” & stored on site.

- 1000-0-R7 for polyphase application
- NOTE: 501-3 and 502-3 polyphase PSD’s may be used for single phase disconnects if used with the 1000-0-R4 single phase adapter.
