K Base
Marwell provides a wide variety of Kbase conversion adapters for both 320 amp applications and for Transformer Rated applications. Initially Marwell offered adapters to allow replacement of kbase meters with a 320 amp meter. In order to achieve this special attention was placed on the safety aspect of the product. On our 2387 three phase adapter we provide ½ inch square copper bus bars that are actually larger than the bus bars on the meter it replaces. It is rated at 600 volts and 320 Amps continuous.
Our 2386 320 amp single phase kbase adapter is UL listed. This again is an example of our commitment to quality and safety.
After our initial 320 amp product offerings, several customers became interested in a transformer rated version of our kbase conversion adapters. This would be used in locations were the transformer and wire size could supply more than 320 amps to the customer. The utility wanted to design a product for the worst case scenario where a customer added load after the conversion from a kbase meter to a socket meter. Marwell has designed several adapters to take care of that contingency. We use UL listed metering accuracy CT's and work with our Customers to arrive at the appropriate packaging method.
